With the Erasmus+ programme, you can continue your studies for one or two semesters at a Viadrina partner university in another European country. The Erasmus+ KA 171 programme also allows this for selected "non-programme countries" such as Ukraine, Georgia, Kosovo and Guinea (in the case of Guinea only for doctoral students). If you receive an exchange place at one of our partner universities as part of the Erasmus+ programme, this is linked to a mobility grant or scholarship. In addition, you do not have to pay tuition fees at the foreign university. In addition to long-term mobilities (2-12 months), students and doctoral candidates (with student status) can also be funded via Erasmus+ short-term mobilities (5-30 days, including a mandatory virtual phase). Participation in a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) can also be funded via Erasmus+ under the same criteria as short-term mobilities.
If you wish to study at a university for which you are not eligible for funding under the Erasmus programme, you can use the network of bilateral Viadrina partnerships. This allows you to continue your studies outside Europe for one or two semesters. The list of partner universities shows all institutions with which Viadrina has concluded bilateral agreements for this purpose – often with the benefit of a tuition fee waiver
The European University Viadrina maintains very close cooperation agreements, so-called double or multiple degree agreements, with several universities in and outside Europe. Viadrina students therefore have the opportunity to obtain two or even three academic degrees simultaneously.
More information on double degreesSelf-organized stays abroad, where you do not rely on exchange programs and partnerships of the Viadrina, can also enrich your studies. It is possible to recognize the academic credits gained during such stays abroad. However, please be aware that this is not guaranteed in every case. Not all courses completed at foreign universities can be recognized at the Viadrina. Therefore, you should discuss your choice of university abroad with your advisor beforehand. In the Viadrina International Affairs Department, students at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics should contact outgoing-wiwi@europa-uni.de; students of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences as well as of the Faculty of Law should contact outgoing@europa-uni.de. Please include the name of the foreign university, provide a link to its website, and ideally also supply descriptions of the courses you intend to attend there. We will review the information and inform you whether the stay abroad and the courses can be recognized.
