ERUA at the Viadrina

Since November 2023, the European University Viadrina has been a member of the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA), a network of eight universities stretching from the Canary Islands via France, Italy and Poland to Lithuania, Bulgaria and Greece. The Viadrina is thus being funded as a "European University" and will receive 2.25 million euros out of a total of 12.8 million euros for a period of four years, with which the European Commission is funding the entire ERUA network. The aim of the European Reform University Alliance is to innovatively shape the future of universities in Europe and to rethink teaching and learning as well as research and social commitment from a critical, European and inclusive perspective.

With the European Universities Programme, the European Commission is promoting the networking of universities across Europe. As cross-border university networks, they are intended to strengthen the higher education area by pooling the strengths and diversity of research and teaching at universities in Europe.

Call for Lightning Talks – ERUA Social Entrepreneurship Playbook (SOCIN 2026)

ERUA's Social Entrepreneurship Lab (WP6) invites Lightning Talks for the WP6 Workshop at SOCIN 2026, hosted by SWPS University in Warsaw (in person & online). Selected talks feed into the ERUA Social Entrepreneurship Playbook. Topics: social entrepreneurship, challenge-based learning, community collaboration and social innovation. When: 22 Oct 2026, 14:30–16:30 CEST, 10 min each. For teaching and research staff; students welcome. Submission deadline: 14 Sep 2026.

Professional Training Opportunities for Teaching Staff in the Winter Term

Curious how to bring AI, digital change and multilingualism into your teaching? The new ERUA plan offers eleven free online courses for teachers and researchers at the eight partner universities – incl. AI, digital and project-based teaching, authentic assessment, transformation/leadership and arts-based pedagogy. Open to full- and part-time staff and PhD candidates. German Language Assistantship in Macerata – Erasmus Opportunity for Viadrina Students

ERUA partner university Università di Macerata (Italy) is looking for Viadrina students with excellent German language skills (native speakers or C1/C2) who would like to combine an Erasmus stay with an assistantship role in the Department of Language and Cultural Studies. Got a Project Idea? ERUA will fund it

ERUA is launching its fourth Bottom-Up Project Call for Students. You can carry out your own project with students from at least two ERUA universities and receive up to 5,000 euros in funding. The project can last up to six months and must start between November 2026 and January 2027. There are plenty of options to choose from: art, exhibitions, sustainability, sport or community initiatives.
