Legal basis

Every researcher at the European University Viadrina is responsible for ensuring that their own behaviour complies with the standards of good research practice.

Rules of Good Scientific Practice of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) of 3 November 2021, § 1

The European University Viadrina is committed to upholding good reseaerch practice and provides its members and affiliates with the Rules of Good Research Practice in a guideline adopted by the Viadrina Senate on 3 November 2021.
The Viadrina does not accept scientific misconduct and investigates any concrete suspicion of such behaviour. To this end, on 3 November 2021, the Senate adopted the Statutes on the Prevention of Academic Misconduct and on the Procedure in Cases of Suspected Academic Misconduct.

With these statutes and guidelines, Viadrina implements the Code Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Research Practice of the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Ombudsperson

As a neutral contact person, the Ombudsperson of the European University Viadrina advises in questions of good research practice as well as in suspected cases of scientific misconduct and contributes to solution-oriented conflict mediation.
All members and affiliates of the Viadrina can turn to the Ombudsperson.
