Offers
If you would like to come to the European University Viadrina as an exchange student for one or two semesters as part of the Erasmus+ programme, please contact your home university first. Your home university will nominate you for your stay at our university. Once we have received your nomination, we will send you a link to an online-portal where you can complete your application. You will receive further information about the application by e-mail following your successful nomination.
Please contact the International Office of your home university if you intend to come to Viadrina via the Erasmus+ KA171 programme (Ukraine, Georgia, Kosovo).
If you are studying at one of our approximately 290 partner universities worldwide and would like to spend part of your studies - usually a semester or an academic year - at the European University Viadrina, but the Erasmus programme is not available, you can apply as an exchange student. As an exchange student, you can acquire credits (ECTS credits) at Viadrina, but not a degree. Double degree programmes are an exception to this rule.
You must first express your interest in an exchange to your home university, which must nominate you for a stay with us. Once we have received your nomination from your home university, we will send you a link to an online portal where you can complete your application. You will receive further information about the application by e-mail following your successful nomination.
If you are studying at a foreign university that is not one of our partner universities, i.e. you cannot take advantage of Erasmus or non-EU programmes, you can study at the European University Viadrina as a visiting student for part of your studies - usually one semester or one academic year. As a visiting student, you can earn credits (ECTS credits), but will not receive a degree from Viadrina. Write us an email to receive all relevant information about the application process.
The summer programme at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) combines excellent English-language courses with a unique international experience in the heart of Europe and offers you all the advantages of a short exchange semester for those interested in undergraduate studies. During the six-week stay, students from all over the world earn academic credits (up to 18 ECTS), expand their international network and experience cultural exchange.

Online enrollment
Use our step-by-step guide to help you successfully complete your enrollment and finally get started with your studies at Viadrina. We also offer a Virtual Enrollment Day every semester, in which we go through the enrollment process step by step and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
After you have successfully completed the online enrollment, you can create and download a three-page PDF document on the website. Print out this document and keep it safe:
Page 1 - Application for enrollment: This must be signed by you.
Page 2 - Payment details for the semester contribution.
Page 3 - Your final username and password for Viadrina's online services.
Submitting the documents
Please submit the following documents - either digitally (by e-mail to students-in@europa-uni.de) or printed out to the ServicePoint.
- Completed and signed application for enrollment
- Proof of payment of the semester contribution
- Proof of sufficient health insurance cover
Complete enrollment
Once the documents have been received, the Viadrina Admissions Office will process your application for enrollment, issue your student ID card and activate your student account. This process takes one to two weeks.
You will then be given access to viaCampus and all other Viadrina online systems.
You can then also download your enrolment certificate in viaCampus, for example when your student ID card is ready for collection. To do this, go to My studies > Student services > Notifications/certificates > Common reports > Actions (Print).
Students who come to the European University Viadrina through an exchange programme are usually requried to make a Learning Agreement with their home university and the European University Viadrina. A Learning Agreement documents your course selection on a semester-by-semester basis. Please contact your home university to find out whether you need to submit the Learning Agreement digitally via an online platform or as a PDF document by email.
To fill out the Learning Agreement, you should know in advance
- which study programme you want to attend,
- which language certificates are required,
- whether you are coming for the winter or/and summer semester (see academic calendar),
- which teaching & examination forms there are.
In order to help you with this, we provide you with our Learning Agreement Guide. It contains all the information you need to enter in the Learning Agreement. For your selection of courses, you will find the course catalogue as well as the offered language courses on our website.
On this document we confirm the duration of your stay at the European University Viadrina. Usually, your home university provides you with this form (e.g. "Attestation de Présence", "Confirmation of Period of Stay", "Confirmation of Arrival and Departure"). If that is not the case, we can issue the document for you.
Your courses, grades and acquired ECTS are listed on a "Transcript of Records". We will only issue this document after you send us a request by e-mail and confirm that you have received all grades. In order to do this, please email us at students-in@europa-uni.de and attach a PDF file with the grades of your academic courses from viaCampus. You can find these under:
My studies > Student Services > Notifications/Certificates > Transcript of Records.
If you have taken language courses, you will find a printout of the grades on viaCampus under:
My studies > achievements > transcript of grades for language courses. Please send this to us as well.
If you have failed a course (or several courses) and do not want it to be included in your Transcript of Records, please let us know.
Further final documents regarding your stay at the Viadrina can be found here.
