Learning Agreement

Learning Agreement

For your stay as an exchange student at the European University Viadrina, you should document your course selection semester by semester in a Learning Agreement. Within the Erasmus+ programme, the Learning Agreement is a mandatory document. For exchange students outside the Erasmus+ programme, the document is optional, but we recommend that all exchange students use Learning Agreements.

Learning Agreement in paper format/as PDF file

As part of the Erasmus+ programme, the European Commission has adapted to digital developments and developed a platform that enables both students and universities to process Learning Agreements online. This platform can currently only be used for exchanges between Erasmus universities.

Students outside the Erasmus+ programme are requested to use the Learning Agreement form in paper. It is possible to prepare the document in paper format (and then scan it) or as a PDF. Please make sure to fill out the Learning Agreement correctly, depending on the Faculty you will be studying at:

Faculty of Business Administration and Economics
Contact/Responsible person, email, position:
Torsten Glase, learning-agreements@europa-uni.de, Departmental Coordinator

Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences
Contact/Responsible person, email, position:
Nicole Klück, learning-agreements@europa-uni.de, Departmental Coordinator

Faculty of Law
Contact/Responsible person, email, position:
Carmen Thiele, learning-agreements@europa-uni.de, Departmental Coordinator

This information must be provided in the table on the first page of the Learning Agreement and in the signature field!

Once you have completed the Learning Agreement correctly, signed it yourself and obtained a signature from the coordinator at your home university, please send the document to: learning-agreements@europa-uni.de.

Online Learning Agreement (OLA)

You can use this platform to complete your Learning Agreement online yourself and make changes; you can also download the Erasmus+ app and complete the registration and editing of the Learning Agreement in the app. Once you have registered, you will use the same user details (username and password) in the app and on the portal.

Online Learning Agreement Process

  1. Register yourself at learning-agreements.eu or in the app.
  2. Fill out the OLA and sign it online.* Completion instructions (in English)
  3. Your signed OLA will be sent to the coordinator at your home university. Your coordinator has the option of rejecting the OLA due to errors or confirming it directly.
  4. Finally, your OLA is sent to the coordinator at your destination university. The coordinator can also reject the OLA if changes need to be made, or confirm it directly.
  5. The OLA can be downloaded and printed at any time. However, you should normally only print it out once it has been fully completed and signed so that it can be included in your Erasmus documents.

* Please note the following faculty-specific information:

  • Instructions from the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences on academic aspects of your course selection and on completing the Learning Agreement
  • Information on the allocation of ECTS credits at the Faculty of Law

The "Before the mobility" section of the Learning Agreement should be completed and signed as part of your application before the start of the exchange programme. As the updated course schedules of our Faculties are usually not yet published at this time, you can only create this part of the Learning Agreement on the basis of the archived schedules of previous semesters.

Please note that our confirmation of this part of the Learning Agreement is automatically a provisional confirmation, as the final course selection must then be adjusted accordingly in the second part of the Learning Agreement after your arrival.

The "During the mobility" section of the Learning Agreement should be completed and signed within 4 weeks of the start of the semester. Here you adapt the selection of your courses to the updated course schedule and your individual study plans. This part will then also be confirmed first by your home university and then by the relevant Departmental Coordinator at Viadrina.
