Application

Application process

The application process for a study-related period abroad opens centrally every year in November/December. It covers the entire academic year: You will therefore apply in early December 2026 for a period abroad in the winter semester 2027/28 and/or for the summer semester 2028.

The process is as follows:

  1. Viadrina enters into agreements with partner universities.
  2. You apply to Viadrina for a period of study abroad at the partner universities covered by the agreements. You may list up to five preferred universities.
  3. Following our selection and your acceptance, we will nominate you to the partner university or universities for which you have been selected.
  4. You then apply directly to the partner university. It is not possible to apply directly or contact the partner universities before the nomination has been made.

Following the regular selection procedures, the remaining places will be allocated.
