Förderkreis Europa-Universität Viadrina e.V.

As the Friends of the European University Viadrina, we support cross-border and European projects undertaken by students and researchers at Viadrina. Since its foundation in 1992, the Friends have been supporting student, cultural and academic life at the university and in the twin towns of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice. In this way, we help to strengthen Viadrina as a place of dialogue, European understanding and social engagement.

We provide support in an unbureaucratic and needs-based manner wherever commitment is shown – from cultural events and research projects to cross-border collaborations. In this way, we enable projects that, without our support, would often not be realised at all, or only to a limited extent. Every annual membership fee goes directly towards our funding objectives, without any deductions, creating scope for innovation, exchange and social impact.

Our aim is to strengthen democratic values, to foster links between the university, the city and the region, and to further develop and raise the profile of Viadrina’s international focus at the crossroads between Western and Eastern Europe: With your contribution, you will be supporting future generations, European cohesion and social innovation – on the River Oder, for Europe.

The Friends’ Association thrives on the commitment of university members, former students and staff, businesses, and friends of Viadrina. Together, they form a network that extends from the twin cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice beyond the region and across Europe. We are united by the conviction that investment in education, research and international exchange strengthens our democratic societies.
