The Viadrina is a family-friendly university where students and employees with caring responsibilities are welcome and receive support. The Family Affairs Officer advises students and employees with child(ren) and relatives in need of care on all questions relating to the compatibility of studies or work and family.
The tasks of the Family Affairs Office include:
The Family Affairs Office invites all academic staff to the information and exchange session
‘Achieving work-(family)-life balance – information from the Family Affairs Office for researchers with care and familiy responsibilities’.
The one-hour online event will take place via ZOOM on 6 November 2025 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Key topics include:
• Parental leave (deadlines, procedures, etc.)
• Childcare options (during university events and in emergencies) and reimbursement of costs
• Contract extension opportunities („family policy component“ and third-party funding contracts)
