Counselling and discrimination: further training for colleagues working in counselling

Viadrina offers numerous counselling services for prospective students, students and employees. Professional counselling centres provide them with important information and support for their studies, for their working environment and also, for example, for their own mental health.

It can happen that people seeking advice at these advice centres also report experiences of discrimination, even if they have sought advice on a different topic.

If you are a counsellor at the Viadrina, the Anti-Discrimination Office invites you to receive further training for these situations and to clarify the following questions, for example: how to recognise discrimination in counselling contexts, what options for action are available and what good referral practice looks like?

In addition, on 24 September from 09:00-13:00 an online workshop on this topic will be offered for all colleagues working in counselling at the Viadrina. Here, for example, there is also the opportunity to practice your own counselling cases in a collegial case consultation. Registrations are possible until 15 September: antidiskriminierung@europa-uni.de

In addition, interested parties can contact the anti-discrimination officer at any time if they need to talk.
