International double degrees

The European University Viadrina maintains very close partnerships with several universities both within and outside Europe through dual degree agreements. Students at Viadrina therefore have the opportunity to obtain two degrees simultaneously.

We are happy to advise and assist you with your application and with planning a double degree programme. You can discuss your study plans with us both before and after your time abroad, so that you can successfully complete your double degree programme at Viadrina and abroad.

Economics

Entry requirements for a dual degree programme

To be eligible for one of our dual degree programmes, you must meet the following conditions:

You must be duly enrolled at Viadrina on the IBA or IBWL Bachelor’s programme or the IBA Master’s programme.
Bachelor’s students must have already completed two years of their degree at Viadrina before embarking on their period abroad for the double degree.
Master’s students must hold a Bachelor’s degree.
You must submit a successful application by our deadlines and fulfil the entry requirements (these may vary depending on the partner university; please refer to the individual programme descriptions for further details).
You must study for two semesters at the partner university abroad.
Double degrees are only available with the partner universities listed below.

To apply for a double degree, please apply via the selection process for study periods abroad at Viadrina’s partner universities. Further information is also available from the Viadrina International Affairs Team.

Dual degree programmes for IBA and IBWL – Bachelor’s degree

Universidad Católica de Córdoba

Double degree programme within the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Internationale Betriebswirtschaftslehre and International Business Administration. Enrolment is only possible at the start of the summer semester (end of February).

University of Vaasa

Double degree within the Bachelor’s programmes in Internationale Betriebswirtschaftslehre and International Business Administration. Enrolment is only possible at the start of the winter semester (early August).

ICN École de Management, Nancy

Toulouse Business School (Toulouse Campus)

Double degree programme as part of the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Internationale Betriebswirtschaftslehre and International Business Administration. Enrolment is only possible at the start of the winter semester (mid-September).

SGH Warsaw School of Economics

Dual degree programmes for the IBA Master’s degree

Universidad Católica de Córdoba

Double degree as part of the Master’s programme in International Business Administration (all tracks). Studies may only commence in the summer semester (end of February).

University of Vaasa

Double degree as part of the Master’s programme in International Business Administration (for M&M and General Track only). Studies may only commence in the winter semester (early August).

NEOMA Business School

Double degree as part of the Master’s programme in International Business Administration (all tracks). Studies may only commence in the winter semester (early September).

University of Macerata

Double degree as part of the Master’s programme in International Business Administration (General Track and FINE, M&M) Enrolment is only possible at the start of the winter semester.

SGH Warsaw School of Economics

Double degree as part of the Master’s programme in International Business Administration (M&M, FINE, FACT and General Track). You can start your studies in the summer or winter semester (recommended) (early February or late September)

Cultural Studies

General information:

7 dual Master’s programmes
Study period at the partner university, usually in the 3rd and 4th semesters. Exception: the dual Master’s programme ‘German Literature in a European Context’, with a study period abroad in the 2nd and 3rd semesters
Application: When applying directly for a place on the Master’s programme at Viadrina, select the dual programme option in each case.

Entry requirements

To apply for a dual programme, the following conditions must be met:

You must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
Admission to the programme requires good grades and a sound command of the relevant language of instruction (and, where applicable, the national language), as you will be actively involved in lessons from the outset and will be required to complete various assessments, such as presentations and written assignments. A sufficient level of language proficiency can be demonstrated, for example, by relevant language certificates, which you can include with your application.

As part of the Master’s programme in Literaturwissenschaft: Ästhetik - Literatur - Philosophie, you have the opportunity to complete three different double degrees:

German-Romanian dual Master’s degree ‘German Literary Studies in a European Context’ in cooperation with Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca
German-Polish Double Master’s Degree “German Literature Studies in a European Context” in cooperation with the Jagiellonian University in Kraków
German-French dual Master’s programme in ‘Philosophy and Cultural Studies’ in cooperation with the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
