ViaRunning: Good mood despite the rain
The light rain could not harm the runners on the evening of 20 May 2026: At this year's ViaRunning, around 200 Viadrina students and employees as well as running enthusiasts from the region were once again out and about together - for exercise, encounters and a good cause. The four-kilometre route took them across the island of Ziegenwerder twice. A cheerleading group from Fürstenwalde provided an extra dose of motivation.
Luise Pudig and Fabian Hagedorn took first place in the women's and men's rankings; Hagedorn crossed the finish line in just 12 minutes and 30 seconds. Susann Senkpiel finished second in the women's division, and Luise Pudig took third. In the men's division, German and Polish Law student Igor Szymanek finished third.
After the run, the evening was ended in a lively atmosphere with music, drinks and a barbecue.
As every year, the donations go to the Passo Fundo study support organisation and enable young people in Brazil, Kenya and Malawi to study at universities.
