More about the Fake News Festival

Over three days, the Fake News Festival at Viadrina invites you to scrutinise disinformation, gain a better understanding of artificial intelligence, and practise how to actively use and help shape the digital world. From Thursday 18 June to Saturday 20 June, anyone interested can try out workshops (with free admission), discuss digitalisation research with researchers and meet renowned thought leaders. Whether you’re looking for an introduction or in-depth discussions, the programme’s 50 or so events – in German and English – offer something for all age groups and a wide range of interests.

Event highlights include keynote speeches by lawyer Ramak Molavi Vasse’i (Thursday 18 June, 2 pm), philosopher Dr Romy Jaster (Friday, 19 June, 3 pm) and AI influencer Max Fröhlich (Friday, 19 June, 8 pm). In addition, experts will offer food for thought and practical tips on dealing with AI and disinformation in more than 20 workshops. In six academic sessions, three researchers in each will present their projects relating to AI, digitalisation and fake news.

The wide range of events can be individually filtered and customised on the festival’s website.
