Welcome Centre
A warm welcome!
As a central advice and service point for mobile international guests, we are happy to help you plan and organise your stay at the Viadrina.
If you have any organisational questions about your visit, please contact us. We will be happy to help you prepare for your stay. On request, we will send you general information about the Viadrina and Frankfurt (Oder) and further information about the possibilities of completing a teaching or research stay or staff training at the Viadrina.
You can find important tips in our range of services:
You would like to teach, do research or complete an academic internship at the Viadrina?
Please allow sufficient time for preparation. You will usually need to take the following steps:
- Find a connection
- agree on a visit period (please also note our semester dates)
- Consider entry modalities (e.g. visa)
- Plan accommodation and travel
The Viadrina Welcome Centre will be happy to help you if you need assistance with any of these steps.
If you would like to do research or teach at the Viadrina, you should contact a suitable chair or institute so that you can exchange ideas with colleagues at the Viadrina.
On the Viadrina homepage you will find an overview of the chairs of the Faculty of Social and Cultural studies, Faculty of Business Administration and Economics and Faculty of Law. Ideally, you should contact a colleague yourself. We advise you to send a CV, a list of publications and - if you would like to teach - a few course proposals by e-mail with your enquiries and to contact the chair holder directly about a visit to the Viadrina.
Here is an overview of which documents are valuable for a meaningful enquiry:
- CV (English/German/Polish)
- List of publications
- Research exposé (see also DAAD guidelines)
- Course proposals with syllabus
- Letter with justification/motivation/description of the project
Be sure to enquire about the applicable visa regulations, the application procedure, the costs and the processing times at your responsible German diplomatic mission before travelling.
