Viadrina opens its doors and celebrates summer
On 10 June 2026, the European University Viadrina opened its doors to prospective students. More than 400 pupils, accompanied by their parents and teachers from the Brandenburg region and Poland, took advantage of the wide range of information available to ask questions about studying at the Viadrina and life in the European border cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice.
They got to know the campus through library tours, a bus tour to the resident halls, and walks led by students. They also had to opportunity to attend lectures in both, German and Polish. At information desks the Faculties, university services, student initiatives and committees, the Student Union and the city, provided them with further details about the programmes and campus life.

The AStA Summer Festival then kicked off as a street party on Große Scharrnstraße. The festival offered a varied mix of sports, family activities and music. Alongside live music on stage, initiatives from the university and the city created a lively atmosphere with stalls, games, food and drinks. Hands-on activities such as juggling, table football, slacklining and XXL darts also invited visitors to have a go.
