Prof. Dr Charlotte Köhler is the new Vice President for Digitalisation
The economist Prof. Dr Charlotte Köhler is the new Vice President for Digitalisation at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). The University Senate has elected her on Wednesday, 16 July, following the suggestion of Viadrina President Prof. Dr Eduard Mühle. While anchoring the topic of digitalisation in the Presidential Board, the European University is responding to the challenges of digital transformation and is further developing its digitalisation strategy.
"Digitalisation affects all areas of the Viadrina - teaching, research and administration. I want to find out in which areas we are already well positioned - and where we can think ahead, expand or provide new impulses, particularly in terms of technical infrastructure, digital skills and digital exchange and collaboration," says Charlotte Köhler, describing the tasks ahead of her.
The responsibilities of the Vice President for Digitalisation include the strategic management of IT security issues, involvement in the further development of the Centre for Digital Transformation (ZDT) at Brandenburg's universities and the management of digital research data infrastructures. Another focus will be on supporting the use of artificial intelligence in teaching.
