Innovation Award of the Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt (Oder)
The Innovationspreis of the Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt (Oder) is awarded for outstanding student work in the field of cross-border innovation and cooperation.
To receive the award students from all three Faculties submit seminar papers, term papers or final theses of an academic degree (in particular B.A. or M.A.). The theses should make an innovative and application-oriented contribution to the study of cross-border relations and focus on projects that strengthen the region.
Evaluation criteria for the award winners so far have been in particular:
- Thematic focus: Investigation of aspects of cross-border relations, especially in the context of German-Polish cooperation; reference to concrete challenges and development opportunities in the Frankfurt (Oder) - Słubice region
- Degree of innovation: Identification of new topics, approaches, methods and perspectives for solving cross-border problems or expanding existing cooperation
- Practical relevance: potential feasibility of the results in regional projects, economic initiatives or social programmes
- Quality standards: scientifically sound analysis with clear argumentation, methodological accurateness and comprehensible results
