Erasmus Mundus Action 2 (EMA2) is a European Commission mobility program. It promotes the exchange of undergraduate, graduate and PhD students, as well as academics and staff, between EU universities and non-EU universities through the provision of scholarships. Under this program, consortia of EU universities cooperate with partner universities from a certain geographic region, so-called Third Country universities. Exchange is possible in both directions, but only between the two regions (EU – Third Countries), not within the EU. The scholarships cover flights, insurance, visa costs as well as a monthly subsistence allowance between 1,000 and 2,500 Euro. Host universities do not charge tuition fees under the EMA2 scheme.
