We support teaching and learning at Viadrina.
The Center for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) supports teaching and learning at the university as a central unit. In accordance with the university's mission statement on teaching, and together with the faculties as well as central institutions, we develop support structures and offers that help students with the preparation for university and during their studies. We provide seminars and workshops on key competencies, practical and soft skills, learning materials and tools for self-organized learning, as well as advice on individual needs. The aim is to provide the best possible support for studying and to prepare students for their professional life. ⇒ Offers for students.
Additionally, the ZLL supports teachers in the conception of courses and offers didactic and organizational assistance and further training. We provide teaching material, technical guidance, and online resources. As a research-based institution, the ZLL is active in regional and international networks and transfers research results back to the university.

Small Teaching Workshop Series - for Teaching Staff
|
Small intervention, big impact - this is the concept of small teaching (Lang, 2019; Flower and Lang, 2021). Instead of turning everything upside down, you can improve teaching more effectively - without spending a lot of time - by taking small steps. In this series of short workshops, you will get tips and tricks around active teaching and collect ideas that can be immediately implemented in your own teaching. The workshops can be attended as often as you like and can be credited within the didactics certificate. |
Not only the current situation but also the outlook on future teaching calls for the digitalisation of teaching methods or at least involvement of digital tools in higher eductation. Courses might not only be planned for face-to-face, but also as an online or hybrid teaching format, including blended learning. ⇒ Online teaching information and technical advices for lecturers.
