Arrival

If you arrive in Germany by plane, the closest international airports are Tegel and Schönefeld in Berlin. If you travel via Poland you have the possibility to arrive directly to Frankfurt (Oder) by train.

After arrival in Berlin-Tegel you can either take a taxi (ca. 12 €) or  the bus TXL in direction of Alexanderplatz until Berlin Hauptbahnhof Central Station or the bus (X9) until Zoologischer Garten. Tickets for the bus are available at the ticket booth or directly from the driver (approx. 2,70 €). There are direct trains from Zoologischer Garten to Frankfurt (Oder).
If you arrive in Berlin-Schönefeld you can either take the city train (S-Bahn) or the train (Regionalexpress, RE, also called Airport-Express) to the station Ostbahnhof. From there you can take a direct train to Frankfurt (Oder). At these stations, you should buy VBB/DB ticket for the train to Frankfurt (Oder) approx. 10 € at the counter or the red-white ticket machines.

Timetables and long-distance tickets are availabe on the web site of the Deutsche Bahn.
Usually the Regionalexpress (RE1) leaves every 30 minutes. The final destination of the train can either be Frankfurt (Oder) or Eisenhüttenstadt or Cottbus. Please check the time tables to ensure that the train really stops in Frankfurt (Oder).

Please be aware not to get off the train at Frankfurt (Oder) - Rosengarten station, which is one stop before Frankfurt (Oder).

If you would like to be picked up at the airport or at the train station by the staff of the Department of International Affairs, please ask in advance.
