Conference of the Research Section „Comparative Politics“ of the German Political Science Association (Deutsche Vereinigung für Politikwissenschaft – DVPW)

Political Climate Change: Regional, European and Global Comparative Perspectives

The conference will take place on 21-23 September 2022 at the European University Viadrina, Frankfurt (Oder).
The local organizers are Timm Beichelt, Michael Minkenberg, Sonja Priebus and Zsuzsanna Végh.

Panel proposals can be submitted to political-climate-change@europa-uni.de until 28 Februar 2022. The submission of single papers, which will be organized into fitting panels, will be possible at a later stage (about end of April 2022).

Authors's workshop and special issue
Covid crisis discourse

The workshop brings together scholars and students in discourse studies, who want to share insights in their current research on discourses of the Covid-19 pandemic and related crises and prepare these insights for publication on the Crisis Discourse Blog (CisD). The CisD is a platform for sharing research and reflection on aspects of current crisis discourse, its problematic language use and selective and politically performative power.

Blogpost proposal in form of a 100 words abstract can be sent to kutter@europa-uni.de until 23 October 2021.

The Workshop will take place on 8-9 September 2021 in Frankfurt (Oder) / Słubice.

Special Issue
Biometrics: towards new political and technological configurations of identity

The special issue will be guest edited by Estela Schindel (IFES/EUV) and Paula Sibilia (UFF, Brazil) for Papeles del CEIC. International Journal on Collective Identity Research.

It invites contributions that address the new challenges posed by the increasing expansion of biometric identification techniques.

Submissions open until September 30, 2021. Expected publication: 2nd Issue of 2022.
