Societal challenges (Horizon 2020 – pillar III)

Collaborative projects in Horizon 2020 shall make an important contribution to the solution of the following European and global societal challenges: 

1. Health, demographic change and well-being
2. European Bioeconomy 
3. Energy
4. Transport
5. Climate change, resource efficiency and raw materials 
6. Europe in a Changing World: Inclusive, innovative, reflective societies 
7. Secure societies. 

Although calls for proposals for collaborative projects in the Socio-economic Sciences and the Humanities, are mainly to be found in the 6th challenge inclusive, innovative, reflective societies, a contribution of these disciplines in collaborative projects in the remaining societal challenges is strongly required.
