5 Steps to the Viadrina - Bachelor Programs, Magister of Law & State Examination in Law

The European University Viadrina has implemented a new portal "du.deine uni.". It provides many important information concerning your application already. Please, be aware that the implementation of the portal "du.deine uni." is still in progress!

You can browse the portal "du.deine uni." for information concernig application.

However, for your application, please, follow the steps which are described here!


Important!

If you are a German passport holder (regardless whether this is your only citizenship or you have other citizenships apart from this) please apply according to the rules for Germans only, even if you possess a foreign certificate of aptitude for higher education.

Step 1:
Collect Information

You can find already many detailed information about the study programs at the portal "du.deine uni.".

Every year we organize an Open House Day (in German only) and a Polish Open House Day where you can get personalized information about the Viadrina. You can get to know us in your home country as well.

Prepare Documents

What to do, if you do not have a German School Leaving Certificate (high school diploma)?

 

I. Register with Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung

If you want to apply for studies in

Internationale Betriebswirtschaftslehre (in German)

International Business Administration (in English)

Recht und Wirtschaft / Wirtschaft und Recht (in German)

you have to register at Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung. Detailed information may be found at www.hochschulstart.de, especially at http://www.hochschulstart.de/index.php?id=3291


Please proceed as follows:

1. Register
with the applicants' portal at hochschulstart.de

When registered successfully you'll get an applicant's ID (BID) and an applicant's authorization number (BAN). These two numbers are of great importance for the further application procedure.

2. Apply now
with uni-assist (see II on the right).


Note:

If you want to apply for studies in other programs no registration with Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung will be necessary.

II. Apply with uni-assist

Applicants with an international school leaving certificate (high school diploma), who do not hold the German citizenship, may apply with uni-assist, only. Please do not send any application documents to Viadrina!

Uni-assist is a cooperation of German universities and processes the applications of international students at Viadrina.

Application with uni-assist may be done online exclusively!

The application procedure is described exactly step by step at http://www.uni-assist.de/online-application.html.

Please follow the advice given there. The online application form is to be found at # 5A.

Please pay special attention to # 8: It is NOT SUFFICIENT to send the application documents by e-mail. You have to send all documents as HARDCOPIES (paper based) to uni-assist!


Deadlines:

  • for winter semester July, 15th
  • for summer semester January, 15th

Applications for summer semester are possible only for the bachelor program in Social and Cultural sciences

Important: All needed documents have to reach uni-assist until the end of the deadlin! The postmark does not count.

 
b What  to do, if you have a German School Leaving Certificate (high school diploma)?

 

If you apply for a program
with restricted number of places

(numerus clausus), please, follow the
rules for Germans.

Deadlines:

  • for winter semester July, 15th
  • for summer semester January, 15th

Applications for summer semester are possible only for the bachelor program in Social and Cultural sciences

Important: All needed documents have to reach the Viadrina until the end of the deadline! The postmark does not count.

If you apply for a program
without restricted number of places

(no numerus clausus), you can enrol directly.

Deadlines:

  • for winter semester September, 15th
  • for summer semester March, 15th

Attention: Changed application deadline for the programm Magister of Law

Applicants for the programm Magister of Law please note:

  • Opening of the online application: 
    • 1st June for each winter semester
  • Application Deadline
    • Magister of Law: 15th September for the upcoming winter semester

 Important information to applicants the for German and Polish Law program:
The Viadrina Faculty of Law and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (AMU) are offering a new common law master programm “Magister des Rechts / magister prawa”. So you have the opportunity either to enroll additionally into this study program  (recommended) or to enroll into the Bachelor of German and Polish Law program solely. Please do not forget to register at AMU as well.

Step 4:
Get enrolled
  • You can enroll after you received your letter of acceptance. For your enrollment please bring all documents mentioned in your letter of acceptance.
  • If you are going to study in a program with a unrestricted number of places (numerus clausus), you will find the necessary documents for your enrollment on the Viadrina application Website.

 

Step 5:
Comply with the Formalities

You must have valid health insurance, to enroll at a German university!

Applicants from within the European Union:
You do not need a German health insurance policy. Your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is valid and sufficient. You have to order the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from your insurance company in your home country well in advance.

Applicants form beyond the European Union:
For you a German health insurance policy is obligatory. After you arrival in Frankfurt (Oder) you have to conclude such a policy with a German health insurance company.
