Exmatriculation upon request
To request the ex-matriculation, please submit the application form to the Matriculation Office.
You can also send the request by post to the following address:
Große Scharrnstraße 59
D - 15230 Frankfurt (Oder)
In general an ex-matriculation will be carried out at the end of a semester. The ex-matriculation within the semester can be requested. Please note that in this case the semester ticket also expires on the current date. Retroactive examatriculations are not possible.
If you have already been re-registered for the following semester when requesting your exmatriculation, you must submit your student ID (chip card) in order to receive a reimbursement.
The refund of the semester contribution paid for the following semester is possible only if the request for ex-matriculation is received by the matriculation office before the start of the lecture period.
From the beginning of the lecture period, it is no longer possible to become ex-matriculated by request towards the end of the previous semester. A refund of parts or the entire semester contribution by the university is excluded.
Contact the Student Union (AStA) with your ex-matriculation certificate to request a proportional reimbursement for the semester ticket.
Exmatriculation ex officio
Ex officio means without submitting the request for exmatriculation according to § 7 (3) of the enrollment regulations of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), if
- the final exam was passed
- a mandatory exam was definitively failed
- due fees or contributions have not been paid despite reminder and threat of exmatriculation
- the studies may not be continued in any degree program
- someone has been given the regulatory measure of ex-matriculation
Exmatriculation due to passing the final exam
Students will become ex-matriculated by the end of the semester in which they have passed the final exam. The ex-matriculation upon request for the date of the last exam, but not retroactively, is possible.
The exmatriculation will be issued according to the regulations automatically at the end of the semester in which one passed his final exam. The relevant point in time is the day on which the last examination was taken successfully.
If this examination was the final thesis, the student is exmatriculated at the end of the semester in which he or she has handed in the thesis.
Please note that in individual cases this can also lead to retroactive exmatriculation.
The ex-matriculation certificate is available for download from viaCampus when it has been issued.
Your access to your Viadrina account as well as to viaCampus and the other systems will remain valid for six months after you have been exmatriculated.
