The German Code of Social Law grants equal opportunities to people with a disability, chronic or psychological illness. For that reason, the examination regulations of every programme at Viadrina provide the possibility of disability/illness compensation for students with a disability, chronic or psychological illness. These measures aim at creating equal opportunities for all students in the process of application, studying and in examinations.
The counselling team assists you with the application for disability/illness compensation in order to find appropriate organisational, structural and financial support for your personal requirements, e.g.:
- Additional time for term papers and in exams
- Extension of the regular study period
- Transformation of oral into written exams and the other way round
- Use of assistive technology or personal assistance in exams
- Modification of regulations regarding internships, excursions or attendance
