Group offer for Ukrainian students Exchange - Support - Strengthening Resilience Are you unable to distance yourself from the situation in your home country? The stressful images from the media or news accompany you incessantly? The Psychological Counselling Centre offers you the opportunity to exchange ideas on these and other topics within a group. Participants can jointly develop solutions and strategies for dealing with very stressful issues. Further contents are worked out within the group. The new semester has started and we welcome all students and especially our #freshers! The winter semester will be a #hybrid semester, i.e. there will be both online and classroom courses. But you still have a little time for preparation. The Online Orientation Week starts on 26.10.2020! From 14th to 20th October, 2020 our project week "Kick Off for Studies" for first semester students took place on the #Viadrina campus. During the annual project week, organized by the ZSB and the ZSFL, First-year students can prepare for their studies and get to know some of their fellow students. The theme was "University & City, Country, Oder". In 11 groups, the freshers developed project ideas to promote cultural life in the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder)-Słubice. In beautiful late summer weather the ZSB was #ontheroad the other day. For our team day we took part in the slightly scary but beautiful city tour "Criminal Berlin". The city guide told us about (fortunately) mostly historical crimes and misdemeanors of all kinds - from black market racketeering during World War II to poisoning. Winter semester's 2019/20 Orientation Week is in full course...Yesterday we started off with a welcome for our new students by Viadrina's Vice President Janine Nuyken and our university's advisory and support services, afterwards the info market with coffee and cookies, the introductory events for international students and many more. Afterwards we had a big get together at the Kleist-Forum with a welcome by Viadrina's president Julia von Blumenthal and Frankfurt Oder's mayor René Wilke. On 17th May the Viadrina will serve as a polling station for the U18-Election for the European Parliament. Our Central Student Advisory Service (ZSB) team will be there, too. We are currently busy with our preparations and have just entered the button-production phase of the project... If you are under 18 and want to take part in the discussion about our political future, come by and cast your vote from 2:00-6:00 p.m. in front of the Audimax-building, Logenstr. 4. For the first time the brand new job and talent fair "vocatium Nordwestbrandenburg" was held on 3rd April 2019 in the Graf von Lindenau-Halle in Neustad! A wide range of exhibitors were present: BTU Cottbus, TH Brandenburg, Industrie- und Handelskammer Potsdam, KMG, Swiss Krono, Customs - and of course the European University Viadrina. Our study counsellors Franziska Boll and Dr. Linda Giesel journeyed to scenic North-West Brandenburg via #ZSB-Mobil and presented our wide spectrum of courses to the many visitors. For the second time in a row the European University Viadrina was voted "Most Popular University in Germany by students and alumni. In an online poll conducted by the ranking website "StudyCheck.de" over 42.000 students and former students voted in the following categories: syllabi and lectures, lecturers, room equipment, organization and library. All in all, 97 % of our students would recommend studying at Viadrina. Today we had a little "unboxing ceremony" at the Central Student Advisory Service... We are very happy with the result of the ranking and will, of course, continue to strive to make every student feel welcome and have a great learning experience at Viadrina! |
