Gender and Diversity Course Catalog
In the Gender and Diversity Course Catalog (germ. Gender- und Diversity-KVV) you can find courses, lectures and and trainings with references to gender and diversity at Viadrina. The catalog contains information on courses with title, teaching stuff and a link to university chair.
For teaching stuff: if you are offering a course, lecture or training with gender focus or diversity with gender as a relevant analytical category (i. e. understanding gender as intersectional), do contact us. We will be happy to include it into the Gender and Diversity Course Catalog.
Gender- und Diversity Competence as Key Skill
Every semester since 2010, Career Center and Gender Equality Office at Viadrina jointly offer Gender Competency Training. The knowledge on sociocultural production and control of gender roles is transferred into personal competence and can be utilized in career orientation. All trainings for soft-skills offered can be found on the platform of the Career Center at the Viadrina.
Module "Transdisciplinary Gender Studies and Queer Theory”
The module "Transdisziplinäre Geschlechterstudien und Queer Theory" (engl. Transdisciplinary Gender Studies and Queer Theory) is an elective module in Master’ Program Sociocultural Studies. The module is offered by two chairs. Students of other Master’s programs or faculties are free to take the module as well.
Studienbegleiter*in and VielfälTIGER
Studienbegleiter*in (engl. “companion to studies”) is a discussion and information booklet for students on gender issues such as its relevance in science and studies, gender pay gap, discussion culture and hierarchies, empowerment, gender stereotypes, sexisms and micro-sexisms. It also contains numerous information on consultation and training possibilities, reading tips and suggestions for getting more involved during your studies.
VielfälTIGER is a student booklet that discusses social inequality and exclusion among students in relation to race, citizenship, age, gender, social background, language, sexual identity and orientation, disability and other attributes and their intersections. The booklet addresses university structures with its barriers and difficulties, disadvantages and obstacles to participation as well as current diversity approaches. It furthermore makes specific proposals and demands to combat exclusion and discrimination at the university.
