Mentoring for female postdoctoral researchers
Mentoring for female postdoctoral researchers is a programme open to women at all EUV faculties, pursuing a professorship or academic career. We apply a broad postdoc definition, with the programme being open to women pertaining to the following groups:
- Postdoctoral researchers
- Habilitation candidates
- Junior professors
- PhD candidiates in the last phase of research, who plan to pursue further academic qualifications
The programme aims at providing a space for women in junior academic positions to reflect upon and shape their academic career in an active, target-oriented, and independent manner. The coaching and qualification programme help to optimally prepare them for future steps in their academic career.
Mentoring for female postdoctoral researchers is a “mentoring and coaching programme for women junior scientists”, supported by European Social Fund and co-financed by the European University Viadrina.
We evaluate the mentoring programme in order to be able to make outcomes visible, determine development and the needs for act as well as the potentials for improvement in order to enhance the concept of the programme on the bases of these evaluated results. The concept of the programme is based on the "Qualitätsstandards für Mentoring in der Wissenschaft" ("Quality Standards of Mentoring in Sciences"). The programme line aims at contributing the increase of the percentage of women in senior academic ranks.
