PUEDES stands for “Participación Universitaria para El Desarrollo Económico y Social en Latinoamérica” (University Participation in the Economic and Social Development of Latin America).
By promoting scientific exchange and strengthening links between Latin American universities and their counterparts in EU member states, the project aims to contribute to the academic, economic and social development of the region. PUEDES is funded entirely through the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 programme of the European Commission. It is coordinated by the Universidad de Oviedo in Spain, and co-coordinated by the Universidade do Estado Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

Viadrina is one of seven European universities participating in the project. As a project partner, it can send undergraduate, graduate and PhD students, academics and staff on exchange semesters, research and work stays at the Latin American partner universities and provide them with EMA2 scholarships, as well as receive students, academics and staff from the participating Latin American countries.

During the current last call for applications (open from 1st October 2015 through 1st March 2016) there will only be scholarships on offer for certain target groups and academic levels. You will find an overview of the scholarships offered during the last call on the project website.

Detailed information on the PUEDES partner universities, their academic offering, PUEDES scholarships and application procedures will be available on the project website.

Applicants from Viadrina can get additional information on this website or by contacting Grietje Zimmermann.

If you are from Latin America and want to apply for a stay at Viadrina under the PUEDES project, you will find more information here. Your main contact at Viadrina is also Grietje Zimmermann.

PLEASE NOTE: The application deadline was extended until March 6th.
