Global Studies 2014

Welcome to the Viadrina Summer School Program 2014 on “Global Studies”
dates: May 26th to July 4th 2014.
In a general sense, globalisation is defined as the compression of time and space by new technologies of communication and transport, so that individuals, groups and nations are deeper entangled than ever before. Thus, nearly every topic in the social sciences has to be seen in a transnational context. This is what this summer school program tries to do.
Besides offering a broader academic insight into globally relevant issues, the program intends to actively discover what “intercultural communication” means in practice. Therefore the academic schedule is completed by an intercultural program providing foreign language crash-courses, intercultural trainings, excursions to German and Polish cities, international evenings etc.

We are one of Germany’s most international campuses. Not only because the Viadrina University is geographically located in the very heart of Europe on the border between Germany and Poland but also because almost 25% of our students come from all over the world. The unique German-Polish atmosphere, the internationally oriented study programs and our multinational student define the international character of the Viadrina.
We believe in international student exchange and welcome you heartily to join this year’s summer school on “Global Studies” and to enrich the program with your ideas and perspectives.
Study globally, think internationally! We are looking forward to having you here! |
