Prof. Dr. Minkenberg’s research interests include the radical right in liberal democracies and the relationship between religion and politics in Western societies. In both research areas, issues of Europeanization and the politics of its opponents, most notably the ideological and practical aspects of ultranationalism, have played a key role in his investigations.

Dr. des. Susann Worschech is a post-doc research associate holding a diploma in Social Sciences from Humboldt University Berlin. Her research interests include the political sociology of Central and Eastern Europe, civil society and social movements, democratization as well as methods of empirical research. Her doctorate at European University Viadrina focused on networks of external democracy promotion and the structuring of civil society in Ukraine.
