Support for Ukraine

As a high school graduate from Ukraine, you do not have a direct university admission qualification in Germany. Therefore, you must first attend a study preparatory program. The European University Viadrina offers various study preparatory programs, in which you will be prepared for your studies and subsequently acquire a subject-related university admission qualification. Depending on language skills and desire to study, Ukrainian high school graduates and (potential) students can participate in various programs of the Viadrina College.

Please note that participation in the study preparation programmes is only possible for students who meet the following requirements:

• You have an indirect university admission qualification in Germany, which you acquired on the basis of your high school certificate in Ukraine.
• You are interested in studying at the European University Viadrina in one of the offered study programs and faculties (economics, cultural and social studies and law). You can find more information about the study programs and faculties at the European University Viadrina here.
• You have language skills in German and/or English at least on B1 level of the CEFR.

You can apply from now on for a study preparation for winter semester 2022/23. The deadline for applications is July 31, 2022. Please click here to apply via uni-assist e.V. For applicants who apply within the framework of the "VIA-Support-for-Ukraine", the European University Viadrina will cover the costs for the application via uni-assist e.V..

Please note that uni-assist e.V. will check whether you meet the requirements for the study preparation in Germany and will forward your application to the European University Viadrina in case of a positive preliminary check. We will then invite you to take a language placement test. You will receive the final feedback on your application directly from the European University Viadrina approx. beginning of September 2022. In this case, you have a direct university admission qualification in Germany and can be enrolled directly in study program at the European University Viadrina. However, this requires sufficient knowledge of German and/or English - depending on the desired degree program and the program you are applying for. If you do not have sufficient German and/or English skills, you can attend a preparatory language course wihtin the Viadrina College and obtain a language certificate to be enrolled in a study program at the European University Viadrina.

As a first-year student in Ukraine, you do not have a direct university admission qualification in Germany. You must therefore complete a study preparatory program. The European University Viadrina offers various study preparatory programs in the framework of the Viadrina College in which you will be prepared for your studies and subsequently receive a subject-related university entrance qualification in your chosen field of study. Depending on their language level and chosen field of study, prospective Ukrainian students can participate in a variety of programs at European University Viadrina.

As a graduate of a university program in Ukraine, you have a direct university entrance qualification in Germany and can start further studies in this field or subject. However, sufficient knowledge of German and/or English is required - depending on your desired course of study and the degree program you are aiming for. If you do not (yet) have sufficient knowledge of German and/or English, you can take language courses within the Viadrina College that prepares you for your studies and acquire a language certificate for enrollment in the desired study program.
