Course description:

This session offers an overview of the German academic system with an emphasis on its structural particularities: legal structure and responsibilities, funding, study and research providers. The presentation will include an introduction to the main stakeholders, their positions within the framework of science and politics and their internal organization. A special focus will be placed on early-career researchers and the specificities of career paths within the German academic system in consideration of current developments.
