Orientation Week

for ERASMUS- and Exchange students 27th - 30th March 2012

The European University Viadrina is offering an orientation week from 27th until 30th March 2012 for new arriving students. Within the orientation week we are organizing some events especially designed for exchange students.

For active participation in our orientation week, visiting and exchange students may receive 3 ECTS credits. Therefore you have to take part in all the following events:

1. Introduction from the Department of International Affairs
2. one of the meetings with the Departmental Coordinators
3. Information event of the Language Centre
4. one of the Workshops "Academic Writing"
5. one of the Intercultural Workshops.

Entry level tests for foreign languages

Students who have any preknowledge of a language must attend an entry level test if they want to participate in a language course, which is offered by the Language Centre ("Sprachenzentrum"). There is no need to register for the entry test. More information are available on the Website of the Language Centre ("Sprachenzentrum")

Workshop "Academic Writing"

The workshop „Academic Writing“ provides students the opportunity to learn about  the Writing Center of the Viadrina and its offers. It will help students to manage their writing tasks efficiently. Moreover, the workshop gives a first introduction to writing processes and writing techniques, and will discuss the avoidance of plagiarism.

Intercultural Workshops

Beyond our program during the introduction week, we also offer intercultural workshops for ERASMUS students. Since the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 20 students, a pre-registration is necessary. The list will be found on our website well in advance. Time, date place and the list of participants of the work shops are published in the chart below:

Official Welcome Reception for ERASMUS- and Exchange students

There will be an official welcome reception for exchange students on Tuesday 3rd April 2012 at 06.00 p.m. at the Collegium Polonicum (CP) in Slubice. All exchange students are cordially invited.

 

Foreigners’ Office

The Department of International Affairs and the Foreigners' Office of Frankfurt (Oder) are offering an information meeting for exchange students with information about formalities you have to comply with for studying and living in Germany. The participation in this meeting is strongly recommended.
