5 Steps to the Viadrina (Master Programs)

Important

If you are a German passport holder (regardless whether this is your only citizenship or you have other citizenships apart from this) please apply according to the rules for Germans only, even if you possess a foreign certificate of aptitude for higher education.

 

Step 1:
Collect Information

  • Triple Master Media-Communication-Culture
    • Joint degree within the Master program Intercultural Communication Studies between the European University Viadrina, the University Nizza Sophia Antipolis (France) and the University St. Kliment Ohridski (Bulgaria).

Fee- Based Continuing Education Degrees

Every year we organize an Open House Day and a Polish Open House Day where you can get further information. You can meet us in your home country as well.

 

Step 2:
Prepare Documents

Please prepare all necessary documents and forms for your application.

 

Step 3:
Apply for your Program

What do you have to do if you are a holder of a foreign university degree (Bachelor or equivalent)? What do you have to do if you are a holder of a German university degree (Bachelor or equivalent)?
Applications for Master programs may be done online exclusively!
Please make use of the applicants' portal https://viacampus.europa-uni.de/

The portal is available in German and English language. It will be opened appr. 6 weeks before the deadline for applications (usually on June 1 for the winter semester and on December 1 for the summer semester - please pay attention to possible modifications).

It is not possible to apply earlier!

When applying, please follow the advice and instructions given in the portal. The online application form can be found within the portal as well.

As the last document in the portal you will find the application request form ("Bewerbung um einen Studienplatz"). You have to print it, sign it by yourself, and send it together with all other documents to be submitted to:

Please do not forget to send your online application electronically as well!

It is not not sufficient to send the application documents by email only. You have to send all documents as hardcopies (paper based documents) to the Viadrina, too!

Please note the deadlines for applications:
for the winter semester: July 15th
for the summer semester: January 15th

These deadlines are binding for both applications for programs with restricted numbers of places (with NC) and applications for programs without restrictions (without NC).

Important: All needed documents have to reach the Viadrina until the end of the deadline. The postmark does not count.

If you apply for a program with a restricted number of places (numerus clausus), please follow rules for Germans.

Step 4:
Get enrolled

You can enroll after you have received your letter of acceptance. For your enrollment please bring all  documents mentioned in your letter of acceptance.

 

Step 5:
Comply with the Formalities

You must have valid health insurance, to enroll at a German university, you need to have a valid health insurance. EU citizens do not need  a German health insurance; European health insurance is valid and sufficient. You can order the European Health Insurance card from the insurance company in your home country.

Prospective international students from outside the European Union need to apply for a German health insurance policy. You will find further information in the FAQ (question 17).
