5 Steps to the Viadrina (Bachelor programs and State Examination in Law)

Important

If you are a German passport holder (regardless whether this is your only citizenship or you have other citizenships apart from this) please apply according to the rules for Germans only, even if you possess a foreign certificate of aptitude for higher education.

 

1. Step:

Every year we organize an Open House Day and a Polish Open House Day where you can get personalized information about the Viadrina. You can get to know us in your home country as well.

 

2. Step:
Preparation

Please prepare all necessary documents and forms for your application.

 

3. Step:
Application

If you do not have a German School Leaving Certificate (Abitur) ... if you have a German School Leaving Certificate (Abitur)…

Please note the deadlines for applications:

  • July 15th for winter semester
  • January 15th for summer semester
and you want to apply for a study program with a restricted number of places (numerus clausus), please send your application documents to:

Please note the deadlines for applications:

  • July 15th for winter semester
  • January 15th for summer semester
and you want to study in a program without a restricted number of places (numerus clausus), you can register directly.

Please note the deadlines for enrollment

*Applications for the summer semester are only possible for the bachelor program in Social and Cultural Sciences.

Please make sure that your application documents arrived to the correct address by the deadline. Sending them by mail by the day of the deadline is not sufficient.

 

4. Step:
Enrollment

  • You can enroll after you received your letter of acceptance. For your enrollment please bring all documents mentioned in your letter of acceptance.
  • If you are going to study in a program with a unrestricted number of places (numerus clausus), you will find the necessary documents for your enrollment on the Viadrina application Website.

 

5. Step:
Comply with the formalities

You must have valid health insurance, to enroll at a German university, you need to have a valid health insurance. EU citizens do not need  a German health insurance; European health insurance is valid and sufficient. You can order the European Health Insurance card from the insurance company in your home country.

Prospective international students from outside the European Union need to apply for a German health insurance policy. You will find further information in the FAQ (question 17).
