Travel Grants for Doctoral Students

Research stays outside Frankfurt (Oder), active and passive participation in conferences, workshops, summer schools etc.

Application procedure
You may apply for a travel grant (not longer than three months) ahead of the proposed trip. Support can only be granted if the funds allocated for this purpose in the actual quarter have not yet been used up. Please contact the Viadrina Center for Graduate Studies before applying in order to find out whether there are still funds at disposal. Students who apply for the first time have priority.
In order to apply please fill in the application form (download here). The form has to be signed by the applicant and the doctoral advisor.

• 150 € (for destinations within Germany)
• 300 € (for destinations within Europe)

• 500 € (for overseas destinations)

You may apply for an additional allowance for the participation fee of a scientific event. The maximum amount is 150 €.

Approval and payment
If your application is successful, you´ll receive a positive notification. The grant is paid out after the trip in the Viadrina Center for Graduate Studies. Important: Do not forget to present the receipts for travel costs and participation fees! Advance payment is possible.
