Support for conferences or workshops organized by PhD candidates of the Viadrina

Funded by the Vice-President for Research and Young Academics the Viadrina Center for Graduate Studies offers up to 4.000 € to doctoral candidates for the organization of conferences and workshops.

The program enables groups of doctoral candidates to present their research projects and findings to the academic public and discuss them with invited German and / or international scholars. The conferences or workshops are organized by groups of doctoral candidates according to the customary scientific standards and take place at Viadrina. The Viadrina Center for Graduate Studies provides advice and logistical support if needed. After the event the organizers hold a presentation about the conference / workshop for other young scholars from Viadrina.

Proposals will consist of

• Information on the organizing team (including names, topics of doctoral theses, names of doctoral advisors)
• The workshop / conference title with an explanation why the topic was chosen
• A sketch of the content and structure of the conference / workshop, including a draft program
• A cost plan.

A selection committee will take the grant decision. The maximum amount of 4.000 € can be granted to one project or split between several projects.
