This site is operated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). On the website of DAAD (http://www.daad.de) you may find valuable information on studying and doing research in Germany. The funding guide (available in English) includes not only DAAD-programmes, but scholarships from about 50 other organisations as well.
This searchable database by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research contains information on a large variety of scholarships offered by different organisations. The site is only available in German.

KISSWIN is a communication and information platform for young scientists which comprises a scholarship database. The database includes all kinds of organisations, among them small donors as well (site partly in English, database in German).
ELFI – Electronic information system on research promotion
ELFI is a searchable database that includes information on any kind of research funding. The database (in German) is accessible for free from all computers within the Viadrina-network.
Association for the promotion of young talent (Begabtenförderungswerke)
The “Association for the promotion of young talent in the Federal Republic of Germany” (Begabtenförderungswerke) is a union of twelve different organisations which are partly funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.The organisations share a commitment to society and to the promotion of effective responsible elites. They offer scholarships to highly motivated, excellently qualified and socially responsible doctoral students. The website is partly in English.

The GFPS e.V. (Association for the exchange of students from Middle and Eastern Europe) is a private non-profit organisation. GFPS e.V. offers scholarships for Polish, Czech and Belarussian students. The website is in German.
