Frankfurt/Oder. As an example I like to mention the anthology Identities in migration con­text (pub­lished by Narr, Tübin­gen) and the research project Grenze – Gender – Gran­ica (see Jungbluth IN: Magdale­ny Mu­siał-Karg, Kobiety we współczesnej Eu­ropie ‘Women in the society of Eu­rope’ 225-242), which is locally rooted focus­ing on the ongo­ing changes in society from an in­ter­disciplinary perspective.
In our em­pirically based research we are con­tinuously col­lecting data, which is transcribed and interpreted us­ing the method­ology of corpus linguis­tics. The data rep­resents language use at a micro lev­el. Sec­ondly, on a meso lev­el our find­ings are related to a certain discourse tra­dition rec­ognized by speakers and hearers of a certain domain. Finally the research is rooted in the ar­chi­tec­ture of a histor­ical language system (e.g. En­glish, German, Span­ish) or of the bi- or mul­ti­lingual language use of a certain group in society.
