Projektbeschreibung in deutsch:

The aim of the project is an investigation of the art and architecture, as well as the other aspects of culture of the Danube Swabian community of the Serbian province of Vojvodina, from the end of the 18th century to the dissolution of the Habsburg Monarchy. In the research attempts will be made to estimate one of the aspects of identity of this ethnic group – its sense of national belonging, and the way this element of the group’s identity found its reflection in art and architecture. In the study, a particular attention would be given to the effects of magyarisation process and the way these politics affected art and architecture of the German speaking community on the territory of Vojvodina.
